Radiohiro by name, began in 1997 as a bi-weekly pirate FM radio and live internet broadcast, taking Indian Classical, Bhangra, and Bollywood music and combining it with Break Beat and Drum and Bass records. After a year of incubation, Radiohiro brought the show out to the infamous Burningman Festival in the Nevada's Black Rock Desert for a 8 year residency, spinning the latest in global music styles.
A studied musician/drummer since the age of 8, Radiohiro now combines his musical training with a profound love for Indian Classical music, re-writing the sound of Asian Underground with a dark, hard driving, yet melodic style. Raised on Black Sabbath and Punk Rock, Radiohiro's exposure to finer electronic music happened while drumming for Tranquility Bass (exist dance/astralwerks/mowax), a group that notably founded 'trip hop' and was responsible for the classic Indian electronic cut, Cantamilla (Birth of Cool II). An ardent supporter of music from within the East Indian community, Radiohiro also spends much of his time recording and co-producing live Indian classical concerts.
