Maneesh the Twister has been involved in music since childhood and has djing for over 14 years. He is co-founder of the Dhamaal Collective, which has been championing hybrids of South Asian audio and visual art for over 6 years. He first started as an on-air radio dj in Austin and at KUSF 90.3FM in SF. He co-founded an indie space- rock/electronic night called Spacecake and in addition to his indie side, Maneesh has quite varied tastes and spins Dub Reggae, breakbeat, drum 'n' bass, dancehall, hip hop, and bhangra. Being heavily influenced by dub reggae, he is also a resident of the longest running weekly dub and roots night in the United States, Dub Mission.
Maneesh is currently producing new material of many different styles from Downtempo to Breakbeat and Worldbeat to Dub, as well as various Electronica, and recently combined West Caribbean and South Asian influences under the moniker Echotwist, which is a collaboration between himself and fellow producer Jethro.
