DhakFu is a turntablist, lyricist, and multi-media urban artist representing the Bengali folk tradition in the international diaspora of second-generation Indian immigrants. Born in Boston and raised across the United States, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, Fuad spent his adolescence in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and moved to Chicago in 1999 to pursue a career as a Blues musician. He has since become an Asian Massive DJ and electronic music producer, while moonlighting as a slam poet and political writer. He is currently employed as a market research media specialist by a monolithic advertising agency that keeps him locked in their basement laboratory from 9 am to 5 pm, 5 days a week.
